Insurance & Pricing at AJ Direct Care
We do not accept health insurance for memberships or out-of-pocket services. Our model is designed to provide transparent, affordable care without the restrictions of insurance.
However, your health insurance may still be used for certain diagnostic services, such as lab work (blood or urine tests) or imaging (X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds). Many routine and even some specialized labs are already included in your membership. If additional or unique testing is needed, we offer those services at significantly reduced, wholesale-based pricing and pass those savings directly to you.One of the key benefits of our model is simplicity—most of your routine care and annual labs are covered under your monthly membership, minimizing unexpected costs. For any additional tests or services, your provider will always discuss pricing with you in advance. No surprises, just clear and transparent pricing.
For patients who prefer straightforward, hassle-free care without navigating insurance complexities, our Direct Primary Care model offers a simple and patient-focused alternative.

$0—there are no co-pays and no deductibles because we are not an insurance plan.
Most services are included in your Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership, such as annual labs, many diagnostic tests, urgent care, and clinic visits. If additional or specialized services are needed, they are offered at discounted, wholesale-based pricing for members.
We provide comprehensive, full-service care with extended access to your medical provider—all for a simple monthly fee. That’s the benefit of DPC: straightforward, hassle-free healthcare.

Health insurance and Direct Primary Care serve different purposes and they work well together.
Insurance is designed for high-cost, unexpected events like hospitalizations, surgeries, or specialist care.
DPC focuses on your everyday healthcare needs—making it easier, faster, and more personal. Here’s why many people have both:
1. Better Access to Your Provider
DPC gives you same-day or next-day appointments, longer visits, and direct communication (text, call, or email) with your provider—without waiting weeks.2. No Co-Pays or Surprise Bills
Your monthly membership covers most primary care services, so you don’t have to worry about co-pays, deductibles, or unexpected charges.3. More Personalized Care
With fewer patients and more time per visit, your provider can focus on prevention, lifestyle, and long-term health—not just quick visits.4. Lower Overall Costs
Many labs, medications, and imaging services are offered at discounted, wholesale pricing—often cheaper than going through insurance.5. Insurance Doesn’t Cover Everything
Even with insurance, you may face high deductibles, limited access, and rushed appointments. DPC fills those gaps. The Bottom Line
Think of DPC as your front line of care—easy, affordable, and accessible—while your insurance acts as a safety net for major medical events.
It’s healthcare that actually works for you, not the system.

Most appointments are available the same day or next day. If you need urgent care, we’ll do our best to fit you in as quickly as possible—even between scheduled visits when necessary.

Annual bloodwork is included as part of your membership. Any additional laboratory testing or blood draws will incur an out-of-pocket cost. We partner with trusted vendors to obtain competitive pricing and pass those savings directly on to our patients.
Annual bloodwork typically includes a set of routine labs used to evaluate your overall health and screen for common conditions. At AJ Direct Care, this includes:
Complete Blood Count (CBC): Evaluates red and white blood cells, anemia, and immune health
Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP): Assesses kidney function, liver function, electrolytes, and blood sugar
Lipid Panel: Measures cholesterol levels (HDL, LDL, triglycerides) to assess heart health
Hemoglobin A1C: Screens for diabetes and monitors blood sugar control
Thyroid Function (TSH): Evaluates thyroid health
